US 285 Over South Platte

Bridge Replacement and Waterproofing | Bailey, Colorado

The US 285 bridge over the South Fork of the South Platte River is a key transportation connection in Colorado’s mountain corridor. As part of the bridge project, NPW Contracting provided approximately 6,000 SF of spray-applied bridge deck waterproofing using Bridge Preservation BDM™ (now PPG).

This project was the first CDOT bridge to use a spray-applied bridge deck membrane system instead of traditional hot-applied or sheet-applied waterproofing. The seamless, fully bonded membrane provides long-term protection for the bridge deck against water and other elements that can contribute to deterioration.
